This vegan Black Forest Cake Oatmeal has the classic flavors of the cake, but in breakfast form. Chocolatey oats with chunks of cherries and coconut whip.

Ingredients
½cupold fashioned oats. GF if needed.
1cupnon dairy milk
1-2 tablespooncacao powder or cocoa powder
⅛ teaspoonsalt
1-2 tablespoonmaple syrup or cane sugar optional, to taste
¼cupchopped dark sweet cherries.Fresh or frozen thawed.

cacao nibs
coconut whipped cream
chocolate
Instructions
Heat non dairy milk and salt over medium heat to just beginning to form bubbles around the edge of the pan. Stir in oats.
1 cup non dairy milk, ⅛ teaspoon salt , ½ cup old fashioned oats.
Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Almost all of the liquid should be absorbed.
Add cacao and sweetener stirring well to combine.
1-2 tablespoon cacao powder or cocoa powder, 1-2 tablespoon maple syrup or cane sugar
Add cherries and combine.
¼ cup chopped dark sweet cherries.
Allow to sit for 2-3 minutes to absorb any remaining liquid. Oats should be fluffy and a bit creamy.
Pour oats into a bowl and top with your choice of toppings.
