Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside.
In a stand mixer or a hand mixer cream butter and sugar until fluffy and incorporated.
Add flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, and eggnog. Mix until combined.
Roll dough into balls about 1 inch in size. Place on baking sheet and press with palm of hand to form cookie shape.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Allow to cool on pan for 5 minutes before moving to a wire rack to cool fully. While the cookies cool prepare glaze if using.
