This easy Sesame Noodles recipe is ready in just 20 minutes. Add veggies and tofu for a delicious quick lunch. Great served warm or cold.
Sesame Noodles are a great side dish perfect for warm weather. The deliciously sauced noodles can be served warm or cold so you can prep ahead for summer get togethers.
We love to serve these noodles with added stir fried veggies and edamame. My Maple Ginger Roasted Carrots or Sweet and Sour Veggies go nicely too.

- soy sauce
- rice vinegar
- sesame oil
- cane sugar
- fresh ginger
- garlic
- green onions, optional
- sesame seeds, optional
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
The process for making these noodles is so simple.
Cook noodles according to package directions until firm to the bite. Drain, but don't rinse.
While pasta is cooking, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, ginger and garlic in a small bowl.
Pour sauce into a large pan and heat over medium for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and add noodles. Toss to evenly distribute sauce and coat noodles.
Transfer noodles to a bowl and refrigerate for 1-2 hours. Garnish with sliced green onion and toasted sesame seeds before serving, if desired.
💡Top Tip:
This recipe is not heavy on the sauce. If you prefer a saucier noodle double the sauce ingredients.
Substitutions & Variations
- Spicy - add chili pepper flakes to the sauce to add some heat to the noodles.
- Deluxe - add tofu and stir fry vegetables such as carrot, cabbage, edamame, etc.
- Nut Butter - add 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter, cashew butter or tahini to make sauce creamy.
- Gluten Free - use spiralized veggies such as zucchini or sweet potato or rice noodles or other gluten free pasta.
Equipment
There is no special equipment needed for this recipe. A pot that is large enough to cook the noodles and the usual kitchen gear like bowls, measuring cup and utensils are all you need.
Storage
Store the sauced noodles in an air tight container in the fridge. Good for 2-3 days. This recipe doesn't stand up well to freezing.
